Tour Plan
We pick you up from Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport or your hotel. If you arrive early enough, we take you to visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. The mosque sits on the Atlantic Ocean with tilework and architecture. The mosque's minaret stands 210 meters tall.
We then drive to Fes, Morocco's cultural and spiritual capital. Along the way, we point out the contrast between Casablanca's modern skyline and the traditional landscapes as we head inland. The drive takes approximately 3.5 hours through changing scenery. In Fes, we check you into your riad with time to explore the medina or rest before dinner.
Overnight: Fes
Today we dedicate entirely to exploring Fes el-Bali, the old medina and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We arrange a local guide who knows every alley of this 1,200-year-old city with over 9,000 alleyways.
We visit the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque (one of the world's oldest universities, founded in 859 AD), the Bou Inania Madrasa with its tilework, and the Attarine Madrasa. We walk through the souks where artisans create pottery, metalwork, and textiles using centuries-old techniques.
We break for lunch at a local restaurant in the medina (lunch cost not included). The afternoon continues exploring the Souk El-Attarine with colorful spices, leather goods, handcrafted pottery, and Moroccan treasures.
Overnight: Fes
After breakfast at your Fes riad, we head to Morocco's Roman past. Our first stop is the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These ruins date back over 2,000 years. We explore the arches, columns, and floor mosaics. We arrange a local guide to explain the history.
Following Volubilis, we stop at the holy town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, a pilgrimage site for Moroccans. This white-washed town sits in the foothills.
In the afternoon, we continue to Meknes, a city that flourished under Sultan Moulay Ismail in the 17th century. We visit the Bab Mansour Gate, one of the most beautiful gates in North Africa. We also explore the Lahboul Square, a former parade ground. After a day of historical discoveries, we settle into your comfortable hotel in Meknes.

We drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, a town with European-style architecture nicknamed "Morocco's Switzerland". We continue to Azrou Forest at 1,250 meters altitude where we stop to see Barbary macaques (wild monkeys) living in the cedar trees.
We descend through Midelt at 1,508 meters (known for apples and minerals) and enter the Ziz Valley, where palm groves create a green corridor through arid landscape. We pass through Erfoud, famous for its fossils, before reaching Merzouga in the late afternoon. The drive covers approximately 450 kilometers.
The Erg Chebbi dunes appear - massive sand mountains rising from the flat desert. We arrive at your comfortable hotel near the majestic dunes in the late afternoon.

After breakfast at your Merzouga hotel, we prepare for a deeper exploration of the Sahara.
Before leaving the desert area, we take you on a 4x4 exploration around the dunes. We visit Khamlia village to hear traditional Gnaoua music performed by local musicians whose ancestors came from sub-Saharan Africa. The sounds of the gimbri (three-stringed bass) and krakebs (metal castanets) create a cultural experience.
We arrange a visit to a nomadic family living in traditional tents, known as a "haima". You'll enjoy mint tea while learning about their daily life in this environment.
As the afternoon unfolds, we prepare for a highlight of your journey - a camel trek towards the heart of the Erg Chebbi Dunes. Experience the unique rhythm of a camel ride as you traverse the desert landscape. As the sun dips below the horizon, arrive at your desert camp, a collection of comfortable tents nestled amidst the dunes. Settle in for a traditional Moroccan dinner under a blanket of stars.

Rise before dawn to witness the desert sunrise over the Erg Chebbi Dunes. Capture photos as the golden light paints the landscape. As the sun climbs higher in the sky, climb the dunes on foot, enjoying panoramic views of the vast desert expanse.
After soaking up the beauty of the sunrise, hop back on your camel for a ride back to the starting point. Savor a breakfast at your Merzouga hotel, preparing for your onward journey.
Our first stop today is the bustling town of Rissani, known for its traditional souk, considered one of the largest in southern Morocco. Wander through the labyrinthine alleys, browsing local produce, handcrafted Berber crafts, and souvenirs.
We continue through Tinghir, a town famous for its palm groves and silver jewelry. We arrive at the Todra Gorges in late afternoon. These canyon walls rise 300 meters high, carved by the Todra River. At the narrowest point, the canyon walls are only 10 meters apart.
We give you time to walk through the gorge. We check into your hotel near the gorges for dinner.
Overnight: Todra Gorges / Tinghir area
After breakfast, we continue through the Dades Valley, known as the "Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs". The valley features rock formations - including the "Monkey Fingers" - and ancient fortified villages built from earth and straw. We stop at viewpoints.
We pass through the Rose Valley (particularly beautiful in May during rose harvest). This valley is known for rose cultivation, and local families harvest roses to produce rosewater - a key ingredient in Moroccan beauty products.
We continue to Skoura, an oasis with thousands of palm trees and several kasbahs. If time permits, we can visit Kasbah Amridil.
We arrive in Ouarzazate in the late afternoon. This city is nicknamed "Hollywood of Morocco" because many films have been shot here. We give you time to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, a massive clay fortress that once housed the Glaoui family.
Overnight: Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we drive to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site about 30 minutes from Ouarzazate. This fortified village has appeared in films including Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. We arrange a guided tour through the kasbah, climbing to the top for panoramic views. Some buildings date back to the 17th century.
We then drive to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260 meters altitude. The mountain road winds through scenery with Berber villages clinging to hillsides. We make several stops for photos. The drive covers approximately 190 kilometers and takes around 4 hours with stops.
We arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon. We check you into your riad and give you time to begin exploring or rest before dinner.

Today we show you the highlights of Marrakech, the "Red City". We begin at the Majorelle Garden, created by French painter Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s and later owned by Yves Saint Laurent. The garden features exotic plants, cobalt blue buildings, water features, and a Berber museum.
We visit the Koutoubia Mosque (exterior), whose 77-meter minaret dominates Marrakech's skyline. Built in the 12th century, the mosque is the masterpiece of Almohad architecture.
We continue to the Saadian Tombs, decorated resting places of Saadian dynasty sultans. These 16th-century tombs feature carved cedar wood, tilework, and stucco.
We explore the Dar Si Said Museum, showcasing Moroccan art and artifacts. Then we visit the Bahia Palace, built in the 19th century. The palace features 160 rooms around courtyards with painted ceilings, carved stucco, and gardens.
In the afternoon, we explore the souks - vast markets selling everything from spices to leather to carpets. We explain the layout so you can return on your own if you wish.
As evening approaches, we bring you to Jemaa el-Fnaa, Marrakech's famous main square. The square transforms at night with food stalls, musicians, storytellers, and entertainers. We give you free time to explore and have dinner at one of the surrounding restaurants (dinner cost not included).
