By lunchtime, we'll arrive at the captivating Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore this historic fortified village, soaking in its rich history and architectural beauty. As the day winds down, we arrive at the picturesque village of Kasbah Amridil (Nkoub might be a misspelling), where we'll spend the night.
After a satisfying breakfast, we'll take a short stroll through the charming village, soaking in the local atmosphere. Then, it's onward to the awe-inspiring Erg Chebbi dunes! As we journey deeper into the desert landscape, we'll stop for a refreshing cup of tea amidst the unique scenery of Berber villages like Nkob and Tazarine, with their characteristic acacia trees providing shade. Our adventure continues through the town of Alnif, known for its date groves, before reaching Rissani, the historical capital of the Tafilalt region. Finally, by afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, excitement awaits as you embark on an unforgettable camel ride towards your Sahara desert camp nestled amidst the golden sands. A short break awaits in Boumalne Dades, a charming town nestled within the Dades Valley. Refreshed, we'll continue our journey, traversing the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations. As we pass Kelaa Mgouna, a town famous for its rose water production, keep an eye out for the vibrant rose fields (depending on the season).
